LISA RANSOME

PERINATAL AND REPRODUCTIVE PSYCHOLOGIST and INFERTILITY COUNSELLOR (ANZICA)

I am Lisa Ransome, Perinatal and Reproductive Psychologist. I trained as a psychologist through Macquarie University, NSW completing my registration process as a provisional psychologist across both NGO’s and Public Mental Health Services in NSW and Victoria.

Historically I worked for 10 years with young people between the ages of 15 and 25 years, with a range of mental health diagnosis and presentation, and their families at Ballarat Youth Mental Health Service, as well as in private practice.

In 2019 I commenced exploring perinatal and reproductive psychology, drawn to the area after my own experiences with infertility and IVF. I was, and continue to be, acutely aware personal experience is not enough to support others as they navigate the challenges presented by infertility, and perinatal loss.

I established Seeds for Hope in 2020, and now work almost exclusively with individuals and couples who are navigating infertility, ART, pregnancy loss, as well as perinatal mental health diagnosis, and adjustment to parenthood. However, it doesn’t mean that is the only work I do! It is very hard to leave the past experiences behind, and I continue to draw on my knowledge working with adolescents and their families, and continue to work with individuals who are “outside” of the descriptions of perinatal and reproductive mental health, including those who experience a range of mental health concerns including eating disorders, depression, anxiety and other significant mental health diagnosis.

I firmly believe and understand we don’t live in a vacuum where a single moment in our lives define us, rather we are complex beings, who bring our range of experiences with us across our lifetimes. If you think I am the right person to work with you, please reach out and have a chat – you don’t need to “fit the box” of descriptive listed on the pages!
