If you are seeking treatment, appointments can be accessed through the following ways:

Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

Requires a referral from your GP under the Medicare Better Access Scheme

GP’s request you book an extended appointment to complete the referral for sessions.

Rebates are provided under Medicare on session fees for up to 10 sessions in a calendar year

Non-Directive Pregnancy Support Counselling

Provides up to 3 sessions per patient, who is either pregnant, or has been pregnant in the previous 12 months, a referral is required to be completed by your GP. These sessions attract a small rebate under Medicare.

These sessions are designed to provide a safe and confidential space which helps individuals (and their partners if applicable) explore concerns or issues related to their pregnancy, pregnancy loss, or post-partum period.

Eating Disorder Plans

Provide up to 40 sessions with a psychologist under Medicare with a referral from a GP, for any eating disorder diagnosis in a 12-month time frame.

Sessions are reviewed after every 10 completed, and a review must be completed with a psychiatrist after 20 sessions, for all sessions to be accessed.

These plans also provide access to dietician services for up to 20 sessions in the same time period.

Chronic Disease Management Plans

Provides 5 sessions which can be utilised across allied health services (Nurses, Physio, Psychology etc)

Eligible if you have an illness which has been or will be present for 6 months or longer, this includes illness such as endometriosis.

Private Health Insurance

If you hold Private Health Extras with Psychological Services, you may be able to claim directly from your designated health fund. Please be aware some private health insurance companies will require you to exhaust MHCP allocations prior to claiming through insurance. Please check with your individual health insurance provider regarding requirements and rebates on fees.

Private Funding

Self-referral with direct payment and no rebates from either Medicare or Private Health insurance.

Pre-IVF Counselling with Ballarat IVF

These appointments are part of your treatment fee paid to Ballarat IVF. Please email directly through to info@seedsforhope.com.au or through the Book a Consultation to schedule an appointment.

• All sessions at Seeds for Hope are 50 minutes in length
• Currently the Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated (AAPi) recommend a session fee of $315.00.
